The Lambda O2 sensor is perhaps THE most important sensor in the late Vanagon injection. After as all of the other inputs are considered (temperature, air flow, etc) the logic program is heavily influenced by the Lambda's evaluation of the "final condition" of the effluent. Without it, the ECU can rely only on its "limp home" program, which is characteristically rich, and very poorly managed. Buy an O2 sensor, ASAP. Bringing ideas to life, G.
