They are the headlight beam adjusters, and they are replaceable... and are VERY delicate.

When you buy them, get a few extras... Everyone breaks one the first time they deal with replacing them.

There are also a few different kinds on each headlight housing... highbeam lamp has 3 of the same type... the the lowbeam has two larger ones... and one smaller one. Often the OEM adjusters are located in such a way that one is always "permanent" meaning it has no threads or phillips head... and cannot be adjusted. The others can be adjuated.

Also if you just apply the slightest pressure on the front of the headlight assembly, inwards towards the vehicle... that can be enough to snap the plastic.
