I'm doing a 1.8L Digifant II conversion on an automatic 1986 camper. There is no vacuum line or hose running to the transmission - only some water cooling lines.

I know, but I doubt that would be suitable for providing shift control on an automatic. Vacuum pump vacuum increases with RPM, manifold vacuum is related to the throttle opening.
