Yes, they are replaceable....BUT....you cannot purchase them separately. You must purchase the complete adjuster at some ridiculous price. There are three different adjusters/lamp holders in there. Check the prices of all three and you will find one style is cheaper than the others. ALL THREE have the same end piece you need. To remove and install that little PITA piece use heat from a hair dryer or heat gun to warm it up. Then it will do what you want without self-destruction. You can sometimes find them in junk yards but again use heat to remove as they will be brittle from age. Good luck. BTDT ! I now keep a supply of new ones from VW in stock for my customers. Cheers
