I switched mine over to r-134a three years ago (new drier, properly evacuated system), it works fine and blows cold but does need a can or two every year. The main problem is that it blows cold in the back while it stays really hot in the front (this is a '83.5 Westy with stoked 1.9-->2.1 engine). Has anyone switched the backblowerbox for a front-only ceiling-mounted version as in some of the other models?
