Don't mistake inner/outer here.

A tire tread has two "outsides" and one inside. When mounted the outsides can be inboard or outboard (on the inside of the vehicle or the outside of the vehicle).

If the wear pattern is ONLY on the inboard side of the tirea tread's outside, you have too little toe in (actually toe out). If the wear pattern is ONLY on the outboard side of the tire's outside, you have too much toe in. If the wear pattern is on the INSIDE portion of the tread, your tire is overinflated.

If the wear pattern is on BOTH inboard and outboard side of the tire's outside. Your tire is probably underinflated.

Front of vehicle / \ ===== toe in (some toe in is supposed to exist, as it helps the car's steering stability..e.g. the ability to return to center) Back of vehicle
