Lived in Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula for a long time. Oil pumped right out of Cook Inlet right to the Tesoro refinery right at the edge of the town of Kenai. Gas in Kenai and the surrounding towns was much more expensive than in Anchorage where they had to pump it over 100 miles away through a pipeline.

Local Freight costs, Huh? Right!!
