i had both on hand about a year ago.

The sachs pressure plate was made from a bit thinner material and not as 'pretty' as the lux. The lux had a different configuration giving what i assumed a stiffer pressure plate.

the Lux clutch disk has more and larger tabs holding the center to the outer ring and the 'asbestos' (well, not really, but you know what i mean) was thicker too.

The throwout bearing were about the same with the luk again being bigger/beefier were the arms/tab connect to the tranny throwout fork thingee. The spring clips holding the throwout bearing in place were bigger (and consequentially much harder!) than the sachs.

BUT do you think your clutch will outlive your tranny anyways?

If money is tight then i'd have absolutly no problem with going with a sachs. but if you have more money and really want a bigger and apparently stronger setup then a lux is probably the way to go. Next time i'd probaby go with a sachs as there is quite a savings... and heck a clutch job is only like 6 hours, right? easy stuff!
