There are a couple of tricks to this. #1) Use galvanized or steel 1/8" pipe for the nipples. Keep then about 2" long. (brass is much more fragile) #2) Use a 45 degree angle to get that clearance you need. #3) A few trips into the brass fitting with the threads will knock down the sharp edges and it will screw into the block with a better fit. #4) Standard grease gun hoses are rated at 3000 psi, the $3.99 hoses I've been getting are.
