Thanks. I stuck Ben's email address in this reply, since he mentioned he'd check his email tonight or maybe tomorrow morning.

A good place for parts is VeeParts in National City 619-477-4787 near the Mexican border. They have everything you'll need. You can get excellent service and all parts at Herman Cook VW in Encinitas (760-753-6256) just 10 miles south of Oceanside, and also good service at VW Paradise (760-744-9081) in San Marcos just East of Oceanside. My advice for good service and guaranteed work is Herman Cook VW in Encinitas. I've had excellent results with them. For an older bus maybe VW Paradise might be better.

> I called Ben earlier this afternoon. After driving 4100 miles, he and his girlfriend are stuck at a beachside campground in/near Oceanside. I gave him a few leads for parts (he needs tranny parts, a muffler, etc. for his 70's era bus...don't remember the actual year) Anyway, I don't really know too many parts places in SD county, so if anyone can give him some advice he'd apprecite it. He still plans (AFAIK) to go into Baja, but I suggested getting everything ship-shape first. If he has to, he'll come up to L.A. to look for parts. > > > Mark Garcia > Alhambra, CA > 1987 Vanagon Westfalia (for going slow) > 2000 Passat 1.8T 5SPD(for going fast) > 1981 Vespa P200E (for just going!) > > _______________________________________________ > Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com > The most personalized portal on the Web! >
