Subject: Ben Huot unstuck in Oceanside

Early this morning I cruised down the coast until I spotted their van at South Carlsbad State Beach. We talked for a while and then he limped it behind me to a laundromat in Oceanside so they could do some wash. I drove him to a nearby VW store/shop that fortunately had the shifter parts and was open at 8 am. We returned and replaced the shifter parts in an empty lot across from the laundromat. We fiddled some with the stock dual carbs but to little effect and I had to leave. I think he is back on the road but wanting to deal further with the carbs and muffler before entering Baja.

I saw his first post but AFAIK there is no "small state > beach park on the ocean" in Oceanside so he may be somewhere else. Do > you know the name of the park? > > Mark Drillock >
