Subject: engine swap from auto to manual tranny
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Hello all - am hoping to glean some list wisdom before embarking on an engine swap. I'm headed out tomorrow to pick up a 2.1L engine that was mated to an auto tranny and my intentions are to swap it into my '89 Wolfsburg with manaul tranny. After looking over the Bentley, it appears to be a matter of removing converter drive plate and installing flywheel along with checking/shimming for correct end play. What other considerations are there that a novice like myself has failed to recognize? Thanks in advance for all your help.

John in NC 85 Westy 89 Wolfsburg
