Subject: Stolen '89 Carat found
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Got a call from the police impound lot today that my '89 Vanagon Carat that I reported stolen the day after Christmas was found. I live in Tujunga (near Glendale, Ca), the van was found on the street in Long Beach, Ca. about 40 miles away.

Immediately went down to see the how it looked - both front doors gone, dash torn up, ignition switch gone, relay/fuse box hanging from the wires, four alloys and four near new tires replaced with junk rims and tires. Lock on the sliding door broken. Also found my broken steering wheel lock (' The Club' ) laying inside. Tool box gone.

After paying $120.00 impound fees, had it towed home - $213.00. Will further check tomorrow to see what to do next.

To those who responded to my original post with offers to keep an eye out for my missing vehicle, or with kind words, many thanks.

Frank W6EV
