George, I drive an 88 GL with a stick. I know what you mean. However, at this stage of life I am getting crotchety in the knee joints, and as I live near a big city w/lots of traffic, as well as being in the Foothills of the Applachians with a LOT of hills, all contributing to the absolute need to do a LOT of clutching, I'm finding the idea of the automatic very desirable indeed!!
