Not sure I aggree totally...I do like this can you are talking about, but hard to find.... I have carried NATO fuel cans for years inside. totally safe from fumage! you can store them on side or even UPSIDE DOWN!!!!! ;-) I know it's always best to have outside, buuut! honestly a full one of these inside is safer than a half-full one strapped on back or front in an accident!!!!! I have one on it's side under the rear seat. the seat doesn't fully close(by a 3/8" bit or so, but think can be remmidied by repositioning, and people soitting pon it never noticed...) ;-) In my land'Rovers, I keep the strapped down for safety in case of any incidents, and are fully safe....the legality? hmmm! not sure....but what ever is technically legal in our world anyway? There is a smaller NATO can as well that is only ten litre instead if you want to take less than six gallons with you, but myself, I prefer to always be able to get to that next fuel stop no matter where the heck I am, and a hundred miles of gas can be purty handy....
