I think if Tom Carrington would, on behalf of the Vanagon List Members, upgrade the LISTSERV software, and set it to exclude completely HTML messageing, it would solve a bunch of problems.

Like mine, many e-mail software packages have a setting to send both text and HTML at the same time. It is a RPITA to be switching it "OFF" for one list and "ON" for another list, then back to "OFF" for the next list, then back "ON" again. Becasue of this, I simply leave it "ON".

If it is best for the Vanagon List to have ONLY text, Tom could then set the LISTSERV to filter all HTML. When people like me send the simultaneous e-mail, the HTML would be filtered and the text message would go through.

This would also eliminate much if not all of that double message stuff we all see periodically when we receive the mail from the server.
