<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV> <P>Hi, first time I've used this and I hope I am sending this correctly.<BR></P> <DIV> <P>Breakdown problem </P> <P>I just 1000 drove to zero degrees New London NH from&nbsp; coast of NC in 86 Vanagon (automatic).</P> <P>I went to start the van after sitting about 6 hrs.&nbsp;&nbsp;Big noise sounding like squealing of large chunks of rubber as engine started running.</P> <P>Checked the ground and all the oil was streaming out from behind the oil cooler (the box the fileter mounts on.&nbsp; Appears the seal is gone..&nbsp; Removed the beast last night in a kind person &nbsp;warm garage.&nbsp; &nbsp;I got a seal from a new oil filter and will install it where the old one was broken in two.&nbsp;&nbsp; It was the old original black seal in there.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </P> <P>Now one of the water lines (the short 90 degeree elbow one was rotted and came apart during the battle for the cooler extraction.&nbsp;&nbsp; I plan to replace&nbsp;the other one as well.</P> <P>Question: Is there some parts place here, near New London, &nbsp;I can get these Sunday or Monday?&nbsp;&nbsp; I'm am due in Boston on Tuesday for Dr appt. &nbsp; </P> <P>Second thing that happened.&nbsp; </P> <P>Apparently the cold froze something in the power steering lines.&nbsp; The pump was running and pushing fluid out of the reservior like mad at the same time oil was pumping out of the oil cooler.&nbsp; I have had no problems with it before.&nbsp; The garage is warm so maybe it will unfreeze the lin.&nbsp; </P> <P>Ques:&nbsp; Any idea why this would happen?</P> <P>Thanks for your help.</P> <P>Don Long <A href="mailto:blackcreekfarm@hotmail.com">blackcreekfarm@hotmail.com</A></P> <P>&nbsp;</P></DIV></DIV></div><br clear=all><hr>MSN 8 helps <a href="http://g.msn.com/8HMMENUS/2743">ELIMINATE E-MAIL VIRUSES. </a> Get 2 months FREE*.</html>
