the 2.1 was introduced in the 86' model year, the 1.9 was used in the watercooled ones until then. It's a pretty common "upgrade" to build a 2.1 when the 1.9 needs to be rebuilt, the FI works fine with either engine.

What year vans had the 1.9 engine and what year vans had the 2.1 engine...?

How can you tell if an engine is a 1.9 or 2.1... ?

If both engines were available at the same time could a van be ordered with either engine...?

thanks. clarence 1990 weekender pinehurst, nc.
