Subject: Wind & Rain Deflectors
Content-Type: text/html

<html><div style='background-color:'><DIV>I've had my wind and rain deflectors on for a while now. Bought them from Eurocamper. </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>I love them. I can leave the window open a bit and not worry about the rain coming down. That means whatever is in my map holder won't get drenched. </DIV> <DIV>That means that the door panels won't get warped (when I replace them)</DIV> <DIV>That means I can drive while its raining and listen to the sound of traffic riding on wet roads. For some reason I really like doing that. And its quieter too. Used to drive me nuts having the window open. And its more theft proof than the sliding windows are. Leave the slider windows&nbsp;open a crack, and fingers can open them up wider, and unlock the front doors... Not so with the rain deflectors... with them you would need a coat hanger. </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>In fact, I think those slider windows are fairly worthless. They're too noisy, don't really do much to cool it down when its parked in hot weather. And they make it a bitch to install tint without leaving a gap where there's no tint (you'd have to remove the whole frame). Now that I have the wind and rain deflectors I wouldn't think twice about just removing the sliding windows and replacing them each with a solid one-piece of non-movable glass. </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>Only thing I don't like about the wind and rain deflectors is the&nbsp;little white part that has the name on it. So I scraped them off with my thumb nail, and all thats left is some smeared adhesive that I'll eventually wash off with soap... If I had to do it over, I would have soaked the ends in soapy water overnight before I installed them, then the name would have come off easier. </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>Another thing I've wondered about is could you paint the wind and rain deflectors with Imron paint in a clear coat with some pigment to darken the tint of the wind and rain deflectors. Because its some type of plastic or acrylic or whatever it is... eventually I can see it getting scratched and all that.. so it would seem, as long as they handle the Imron without disolving ,that the Imron would give them a longer cosmetic life. And because I have dark tint by Solar Gard (sputtered metal, in Charcoal which includes some dye, wonder if I should have gotten the Quantum which is only sputtered metal...) and have decided that I should go with a limo tint, which I think would be just a tint over a tint, or a double layer of tint (which should make it impossible for someone to notice that you have curtains up, so your free hotel parking is more discrete, jacuzzi and all) (shouldn't a double layer cancel out any minor flaws in the tint, of say just one layer...)... well it would be nice if the wind and rain deflectors were a closer match to this tint... </DIV> <DIV>&nbsp;</DIV> <DIV>Either way, I'm sorry I didn't own these things much earlier. Hope they're still for sale when I get a second vanagon... </DIV></div><br clear=all><hr> </html>
