My local quote was for a total of 1150...

Someone here is telling me that its not that hard to rebuild yourself...

Someone else told me that they spent 4000 for their AT cause they had it shipped and UPS cracked the bell housing, then someone who installed it had to reinstall it again after the bell housing was welded - I think their installer may have charged them more than usually for R&R (what is that, removal and reinstallation?) cause they were having the rebuilt AT come from somewhere else, but I don't know...

So local isn't all bad... let them deal with THEIR problems...
