It would be cheaper to buy the Mercedes AMG Monoblock 15's which look very similar to the Carat 1 wheels.

I would think that there are enough wheels available stock for the Vanagons that it would be difficult to absorb 1,000 units even with some going to the late model loaf vans. You could try to sell them to the Mercedes crowd but few would 15" wheels. IMHO the market is too saturated now for this kind of endeavor to be economically feasible.

Why would he need permission if the design is essentially different by simply the virtue of it's size? The proportions would be different.
