Bill-

So under normal circumstances, there's power to the solenoid all the time, but it's only activated when the ignition switch is operated? I was going under the assumption that there should be NO current to the starter unless the ign. switch is operated. Is it also possible that a short under the dash blew the starter solenoid? How else could the stuff in the cockpit (CDplayer cutting out/e-brake light coming on/smoldering odor) be explained? Thanks for your help-
