I'm with Stan -- make the new tool and show it off to your friends. (Maybe
even sell it on ebay).

I make tons of jigs and sleds and guides in my woodworking business.  A
majority of them are only used once, but usually they can be refitted to a
new use or just broken apart and reused.  Same with tools.  I often grind,
bend, or cut up a tool to make it fit a particular application.  However, I
only mangle the cheap ones.  So, if you can't get that nut started on the
clutch slave cylinder, go get a cheap wrench, grind it thinner, put a bend in
it, and peen the end so it holds the nut captive.  Easy, and you may use it
again someday (or Larry will ask for it for the Road Haus).
