What song are you singing? I don't get it. Mood or Mode. Gee, when I want to go slow, I drive my Westy (usually on vacation). When I need to get 40 mpg going to work, I drive my diesel Jetta. When the snow is 24" deep, I drive my Suzuki Samurai. When the sun is out and there is no chance of rain, I drive my '65 Covair Corsa convertible. Why have 9 Vanagons? ;-)

Sorry, that was "mood for a day"...

The solution is simple... make sure your Vanagon stable has an adequate distribution of 4 speeds, 5 speeds, and automatics. This way you can drive whichever fits your "mode for a day" (does anyone else start humming the song when they read this?).

Cheers,

Jeff
