I considered using the Mercruiser aluminum block 470 (4cyl, 170HP) engine in my conversion. This is a funny engine...3.7 litre inline4, and uses a single big-block chevy V-8 cylinder head. GOBS of torque.

Used to be a boat mechanic, so I had access to such beasts. :)
