Subject: OT: Mercedes C Class
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

My wife has been talking about a Mercedes for as long as I can remember. Even though I'm a penny pincher on myself, I find it hard to control myself when Suzanne is drooling over something (especially as long as she has been drooling). I'd like to look into getting a late model C class (I think they are a new body style as of MY 2000), but I don't know anything about them. If anyone has any experience with them I would appreciate some insight (maybe a Mercedes Tech out there somewhere?) I've read a couple of articles about how Mercedes quality has gone down in the last 1/2 decade, but I don't know what that means to a layman like myself. Also, what are the long term maint costs like? I've know people that had 80's and early 90's MC's that have had really no problems. What about the new ones? One last question, are diesels available in the C class in the US? I know you can get them everywhere else, but here (in the US) we seem to LOVE gas power. Any help would be much appreciated. It's Friday anyway :)
