Subject: AC compressor Gurus needed!!! . . . I wonder how good these are at compressing air??? . . . ----------------------- Clip --------------------------- They (York Compressors) overheat real bad without freon and the 25 CFM is rated at Automobile Engine RPMs of about 2500. They have a slinger oil system that you might assist with 50 wt synthetic oil and get some longevity out of it. If I were going to attempt to use one for compressed air I'd put some type of drip oil on the Low Pressure (Intake Side) and add an Air cleaner. You're on you own with this one ................ I've seen them on Gasoline engines at the races for airing up tires, limited use worked good.
