I've had 2 TDI's and am in the process of buying a 3rd and doing a TDI conversion on my Syncro. 99 Beetle 85k in 26 months, sold it to a friend who didn't run it hard enough, got clogged up with carbon, timing belt jumped at 110K and now I own the engine (for conversion). 2001 Jetta TDI 78K in 24 months, 100K timing belt from DieselGeek.com, running strong. Both get/got 48 mpg running the be-jezes outa them. No other problems with either. Just keep clean fuel and filters, change the oil every 6500 miles AmsOil synthetic and run em hard. Can easily and cheaply get 130+HP and 250 lbs torque with chip and nozzles. Great Cars/engine...Drivers needed Gets lots of info from www.tdiclub.com serious motorheads!
