So what you're saying is that you can't see at night. Military vehicles use 24v because they must have 24 v to accomidate a wide variety of assist in battle field conditions. Aircraft over a certain size in civilian usage go to 24 volt for the lighter wiring you mention. Commercial / Millitary aircraft use 24 volt because of the long cable runs and servo motors can be made smaller in 24v vs 12v. I have a 66 Westy (37 years old) 12v conversion, and an 83 Westy 20 years old ................. where are my wiring problems?. I think you make 'too much adoo' about nothing. I'm thinking that installing a second battery and just putting the headlights on a 24v circuit might be enough, just leave everything else alone to avoid nightmares. Stan Wilder
