Chris said: ""OMG!! Are people saying that Tiico engine conversions are causing shifter problems now?"" YES!!!! Excessive vibration causes a LOT of other problems. The vibration from my Tiico is cracking my A/C housing. Alternator bracket cracked. Compressor bracket cracked. It makes my shifter rattle vigorously - that can't be good for old plastic parts. I repair my exhaust a couple times a year. My sliding windows rattle now, for the first time ever. The vibration broke off my dipstick tube. I leave a trail of nuts and bolts everywhere I go (replaced with nylocks and loc-tite). The ground wire on the front of my tranny broke off - vibration fatigued the metal eyelet. Fuel lines loosen up now and then. O2 wire broke off. Fuel rail ruptured from rubbing/vibrating. Who knows what else has been affected? All of this is quite aggravating, but then again I can go 100mph uphill. Bill Marshall 85 GL Tiico "Pandora's Box" Aurora, IL |
