That's it Cory. That's the explanation/example I read about. The mechanic that installed my I4 is now putting one in one of his own Syncro's and I'm waiting to see how he starts solving some of these things. Instead of me being the guinea pig, he's it and I'll get the benefit as time goes on. There is some logic to the idea that if you securely fasten a vibrating or resonating part to a very stout point on "the box", the vibration stops there. It doesn't get a chance to transmit its movement. Obviously, no engineer here ;>)

Best, Bob

"I believe that someone else, Karl from Westy Ventures mabye, was saying that he solved the vibration by welding the left side engine carrier where it meets the frame. There is a rubber bushing on the left engine carrier in a Tiico setup that is not there on the right side carrier, or on either carrier in a Diesel Vanagon. He somehow overrode that carrier bushing, and made a fixed connection to the frame. No more vibrations. Again it seems counter intuitive to solve a vibration problem by removing and/or stiffining the current tiico bushing and mounts. But it seems there are at least two account of it working."

Cheers,

Cory
