Subject: Procedure bleeding the cooling system
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Two questions about the cooling system.

1. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct procedure to bleed the cooling system?

1.. Park the car uphill 2.. Disconnect the hose from the cap of expansion tank (that connects to the refill tank) 3.. Remove the cap from the expansion tank 4.. Fill the expansion tank (completely full) 5.. Start the engine 6.. Open the bleed valve on top of the radiator 7.. Keep filling coolant into the expansion tank until coolant comes out of the radiator bleed valve. 8.. Close bleed valve on radiator 9.. Close the expansion tank 10.. connect the hose to the refill tank 11.. stop the engine

There is also a bleed valve on the thermostat housing. Should that be opened?

2. The temperature gauge is not working at all and just wondered if this could be the problem.

Underneath the thermostat housing, one of the electrical connectors only one of its two wires connected. Sorry that I can't explain better, but the connecter is facing towards the front of the car.

Thanks

Per Martin
