Subject: headlite problem
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed

My skills and understanding of electricity are minimal and I'm having problems trouble shooting a headlite problem.with my 86 Westie. All lights function with the exception of the headlites when the dash switch is turned on. The headlights only work, with or with out the dash light switch, when I pull and hold the dimmer switch up toward me. The fuses check out and since the headlights are fused separately I don't believe they are the problem under the given circumstances. I think my questions are 1) How do I check out the dash switch and its #56 connection? 2) what do I look for in the connection in back of the relay/fuse panel that supposedly connects ??? the dash switch with the dimmer switch? 3) Are there any ground wires that might contibute to this problem and where are they? and lastly, I think,4) How do I trouble shoot the dimmer switch ? There may be other questions omitted.. Please feel free to contribute any information you think is important. TIA Alex
