The "if they care" clause in the above sums up my experience with VWoA
concerning anything Vanagon.  You will get the requisite, contrived apology
from them followed by a bunch of words which mean "tough shit".  Now, if
their database shows that you have bought a new Jetta every 2 years out of
the past 10, they might be more accommodating.  Regardless, you have to try
all possible recourses.  Good luck.
