Yes . Way back when JC Whitney, Warshawsky, Blue Star, and Western Auto stores sold such a thing. I have one for my 49 Chevy PU which I bought one of these for back in 59. It aired the tires up real nice. The hose is old and rotten now-but if I made a new hose it would still work good. I used it often on my old Dunlop tires on my Ariel Square 4 motorcycle too. Darn tubes would leak down once in awhile. Good Morning, Fred

Fred,             Have you ever tried this? Have you ever drove down the highway after filling one of your tires with a compressed gasoline/air mixture? Sounds like a bomb to me?                                                                                                                             Eric Fredrich Hesterberg wrote: Mr. David, Why even enter into an unknown, by trying to use the AC compressor, that will more than likely burn up due to petroilis neglegtis? Small 12 volt air compressors you can buy for small money and get the same results with no problems. Or I have seen the engine used as an air compressor. Pull a plug and hook a hose to any cylinder turn the engine over and it will pump more air than the ac compressor with no oil loss. I wonder how good these are at compressing air??? . . . David Marshall >> Dave, my man, while I've never had reason to test the CFM @ PSI rating of a Vanagon A/C compressor, I would think it might be capable of handling at least one Badger air brush before it runs out of smoke. If you really need to spin some air tools in the outback, why not do what the big boys do and tote along a freshly charged scuba tank . . . oh, and a regulator of course. George Fred
