A small 12V pump won't spin air tools or fill up my reserve tank fast enough to make them spin. The object here is to repump all tires after airing down and the ability to quickly change all four tires so I can go from street to off-road - plus there is the coolness factor too! :)

The spark plug idea would be good if I was in a pickle - but I will be driving a Diesel so there won't be any spark plugs to quickly remove.

Mr. David, Why even enter into an unknown, by trying to use the AC compressor, that will more than likely burn up due to petroilis neglegtis? Small 12 volt air compressors you can buy for small money and get the same results with no problems. Or I have seen the engine used as an air compressor. Pull a plug and hook a hose to any cylinder turn the engine over and it will pump more air than the ac compressor with no oil loss.

Good Morning

This is why I am going to have a pressure tank in the treasure chest of the truck! David Marshall

Subject: AC compressor Gurus needed!!! . . . I wonder how good these are at compressing air??? . . . David Marshall >> Dave, my man, while I've never had reason to test the CFM @ PSI rating of a Vanagon A/C compressor, I would think it might be capable of handling at least one Badger air brush before it runs out of smoke. If you really need to spin some air tools in the outback, why not do what the big boys do and tote along a freshly charged scuba tank . . . oh, and a regulator of course. George
