Well, we FINALLY got our bus home after 5 or 6 long weeks at the transmission shop. It's been home for a couple over-nighters in between, but we've have had to bring it back because they kept not fixing the slipping in reverse ($1280.00 for auto trans rebuild...OUCH, but worth it - figured I'd keep after them until it was perfect.)

If you've ever been away from your bus for an extended time, it really true about "absence making the heart grow fonder." I got in and thought - for all it's little problems...this is the coolest car I've ever owned! My wife came with to help with driving it home so I led, then followed her part way just to watch it from all angles (you know how you never get to see what YOUR car looks like on the road). Even the most common motion, like turning a corner or changing lanes, or that little plunge the front does at a stop light looks cooler on a Vanagon!! It's one of the only cars I've owned -amongst many- that I keep liking more and more the longer I own it...strange but true.
