I made a simple switch for the fuel pump on my GTI.  With the switch closed,
the car runs...with it open, it doesn't.

It's a somewhat rookie install - just patched in at the fuse panel.  In my
case, it would be fairly simple to bypass, if you knew where to look.  But,
if you patched in to the fuel pump wiring elsewhere, it would be much harder
to bypass.  If the switch was well-hidden as well, I think it would be
fairly difficult to thieve.
