My wife managed to not only get the stock VWOA apology, but she also extracted a check for the cost of a new set of rotors that we had to buy because our (defunct) local dealers' wrench monkey had machined the old pair instead of replacing them in the course of a 4-wheel brake job and they warped on a cross country trip. I still own tools that this guy uster leave behind, discovering *years* later a lost screwdriver inside the AC housing in the back.

The original brake job was done at 73K miles and the rotors were replaced at 77K miles. Our bus now has 172K miles on it, and the only brake work done since, has been fluid changes and a seta rear wheel cylinders.
