They make this took that fits on a socket head its like a clamp when ratchet is used. don't know the name of it stud extracter, I did the same and could'nt grab enuff of it to loosen it since mine was so close to the block, but sounds like to have alot of the stud so this tool would work. sorry I don't have the part number for the tool. but i guess this happens alot since the studs are steel and the block is not.
