Interesting day in court. I *DO NOT* enter a courtroom without an attorney so I called mine. He said, "I'll be there." Court day shows up. Hanging in the parking lot waiting for Jim (James J. Warner, in San Diego. Good guy. If you need one, call him and tell him I sent you. Not cheap, but good.) This little man on crutches (5'-2" maybe. Polio crutches) comes up and asks if I'm me. I reply to the affirmative. He tells me that Jim had a conflict and he's taking my case. Oh-kay...

Enter the courtroom. Chippie's there. With Sargent. Oh well. Atty asks me for the story. I tell him. Name is called. Atty requests meeting in chambers. He, the DA and the judge disappear for about twenty minutes. He returns. Asks me if I'll plead to "exceeding the 55." YES! I say. DA comes and talks to the chippies. They laugh. Agree. Ten minutes later I'm outta there with a $256 fine, no points.

A most interesting morning... ;o)

Jim
