I guess I'm using the wear pattern of my '91. I have always used the same thought you expressed on all my other vehicles until that one. The drive wheels wore so evenly and the fronts always wore on the corners as well, I just assumed it was because of the heavier "pushing" forces while cornering. I also went to the inconvenience of switching the rotation direction by swapping sides of vehicle, while moving them back to front and vs versa, for more even wear. Havn't had a Syncro before so I'm open to all suggestions here. I've only put 8K on my van now so I don't have enough experience "watching" tire wear, except that it's been negligible compared to my 2wd '91. I'll try your rotation method for the next couple cycles and see how even the wear comes out.

Bob, you sure about the fronts taking more wear? I always thought the primary drive wheels did (i.e. rears). Anyway, a good rotation pattern for 5 tires on a syncro is: S to LR, LR to LF, LF to RR, RR to RF, RF to S. This keeps everything evened out, and only takes one jack. tx, bmc :) Ben McCafferty ben@volkscafe.com
