Hi Cory,

If you buy a 20 ton press you will have enough power to do most of the automotive work you will need to do. You want to be careful of the discount house junk, as the jacks wont last long. Another thing you need to add to you cost of your project. The cost of the press tools! The press may or may not come with a press plate, and that is about all. Just about every job you start to do will require different press tools, to hold the part, keeping it from being damaged, and to do the work. Plus the universal tools you can buy from say Snap-on, most likely wont work on the special Volkswagen jobs. When the dust settles your will spend close to a $1000.00 retail for a medium power press and tools. Plus don't forget the burlap bag, or piece of heavy canvas sheet! Just kidding, always wrap your work with something to catch the ballistic shrapnel keeping it from hitting you! How often are you going to need a press. Ours may go a week or more and never get used, and we are working five days a week. So on a $$$$$$ basis, by the time you buy the press, and the $pecial tools, for one time use, you may be better off $ending the work out. I'm not trying to discourage you but just a heads up. Good luck.

Howard
