very little, if any, vanagon content!!!

ok, now and then, i buy copies of Motorhome and Trailer Life magazines... sometimes you find neat ideas in there. :)

March2003 issue of Trailer Life has a couple of things that might be of interest ...

1. Hummer H2. yeah, so what? $53,000 SUV ..big, ugly, and expensive. 11mpg. 0-60 in 20 seconds.

say what?

yup. my 91 automatic can beat a $53,000 SUV to 60mph!!!!!! whahoooooo!!! :)

ha!! :)

now, the funny part about this test was that they pulled a trailer with the H2. but the trailer cost only $22,000 ... i might be missing something here, but it seems to me that anyone who could afford a $50k tow vehicle that gets only 11mpg (actually, only 8mpg when pulling the trailer!) would buy something a bit bigger/fancier/more-expensive. ;)

2. for those that were talking about the Mercedes Sprinter and all its possibilities ... at some RV trade show in louisville, ky, a company called Forest River introduced an RV'd MB Sprinter ... a class B motorhome. $50,000. :( yup. says that MB was/is very strict about the modifications that can be made to the body, so the only changes are removal of the rear doors and adding a fibreglas rear cap (no rear doors or windows). http://www.forestriverinc.com/ is the web site, but i can't find anything about the new one yet. article claims its been introduced by their Surveyor Division (used to make only ultra-lightweight towables).

now you know as much as i do. :)
