If you put 100/80 watt bulbs in... then you will need to do a wiring upgrade which will allow the current to flow directly from the battery, through a relays, to the headlights. The current original lighting setup routes all the current through the headlight switch, which will burn up and melt away if you add more wattage. In short, yes, you can use those bulbs, but only with the wiring upgrade. Info on how to do it is all over the archives, as well as on vanagon.com I would recommend doing the upgrade anyways, as you will get more voltage to the bulbs, and notice even more light from your old bulbs!! If you are interested in really seeing at night, send me a pmail, and ask me about the used E-code H4 headlamps I have for sale. RSF IMPORTANT!!! In order to reply to me, you must have the word "FISH" somewhere in the subject line of the email. Otherwise it goes directly in the trash. <º)))>{ <º)))>{ <º)))>{ <º)))>{ <º)))>{ <º)))>{ Robert S. Here's a link I found, which lists some nice bulbs. I thought 86 +Vanagons used 9004 bulbs, but I can't remember. |
