I feel the same way about the first point and usually the same way about the second
point, with this qualification: The people that actually DO the work, even if they
provide the parts to do a particular thing, are often the people that have a great
deal of experience and can provide proper answers to the problems we're having.
When they start saying that their particular way and parts are better, then I defer
to the experience of others who have used their parts and/or process. That way I
can usually get a good, balanced view on the subject.

PS--Jon's treatise was pretty amazing, irregardless of whether I will ever do a
Tiico conversion or not. I love that kind of stuff.
