Subject: treatise on Syncro Westy values
Content-Type: text/plain; format=flowed
Judy's very desirable Syncro Westie's value is in my opinion severely
impacted by the reality of its lifetime spent in Michigan.
Even if you spray down the body after every jaunt into salt laden roads, you
would still have tremendous corrosion under the van on drivetrain components
(ever see an east coast van and how powdery the aluminum components are from
corrosion?) and associated bracketry.
Things in her favor are that it is a 91, Orly Blue, and original owner car,
has an extremely clean interior, and many receipts.
Negatives are the mileage and impending major maintenance needs, even with
its history of recorded maintenance.
Without further evidence to the contrary, im guessing that it will sell to a
savvy buyer (key for these money pits) at 13.5-15 k.
With a rebuilt motor and/or tranny 16k. If it were west coast, at that
mileage, with a rebuilt motor, 17-18 k. If it had 100k miles and west coast,
with rebuilt motor, 21-22 to the right buyer.
Ive sold three orig. owner west/coast syncro westies, mint, no issue 90-91
sub 100k miles vehicles for 23-25k. But those days are over most likely.
syncroless in seattle,
apologies to dreamers,
-steve
