I had spoken to Weedle about the limited-slip vs. the diff lock. I was told the cost is about equal. This because the limited-slip is a rare item and they are appropriately expensive when you can find them. There also some talk about the Quaife tourque-biasing differential for the Vanagon, but I don't know if anyone ever tried it. Seems that Quaife was willing to make them, however they needed a minimum commitment of a dozen or so.
