Wouldn't expect that to matter particularly at closed throttle. happens with the van- start it up, cranks easily, >fires up to idle speed, then dies suddenly. crank it >again, and it will probobly die again, but sometimes >it will run rough for a couple minutes before dying.
Might try squirting a bit of ether or propane into intake -- if it's lean that will help and if it's rich will kill it quick. Just possibly it's only starting to run well when the O2 sensor starts working? My best guess is that either the aux-air isn't happening properly; or the ECU either thinks it's hot (T II) or has lost the ability to richen the mix when it's cold. Of the three, I pick that the ECU thinks it's hot. david
