Just signed on to the list. Enjoying it so far! I have a question concerning torqueing head bolts. In my previous rebuilding older VW engines experience, I seem to remember having to re-torque the head bolts after so-many miles. We recently had a factory rebuild engine put into our 87 GL Vanagon, and when I asked the mechanic whether the head bolts should be retorqued, he said that would not be necessary. Should I be concerned? We have put about 9000 miles on the new engine so far. Thanks in advance for any discussion on this.
